Überlingen, Germany. – DriveLock SE has been confirmed as one of the innovation leaders among Germany’s midsized firms.
The Munich-based firm has been honoured by Ranga Yogeshwar, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and compamedia with the TOP 100 label, now in its 24th year. This is already the second time DriveLock SE has achieved recognition as a member of the innovation elite. The company particularly impressed the independent selection panel in the “Innovation Success” category.
Data theft by criminal hackers is an absolute nightmare for any company – and DriveLock SE puts a stop to it. Founded in 1999, the Munich-based TOP 100 company is one of the world’s leading software and services providers of IT and data security.
Midsized companies as well as large groups in more than 30 countries rely on the top innovator’s software solutions. “Criminals have many ways to get malware into a system,” explains Anton Kreuzer, CEO of DriveLock SE. “For example, it can be dangerous for employees to connect their personal laptops or USB sticks to company systems.”
Many midsized companies do not have the technical staff required to set up and manage an internal IT security architecture. This is why DriveLock SE, as a top innovator, has recently started to provide a new service. This enables customers to work on a specially equipped cloud server, which DriveLock secures against all types of attack and delivers as a managed security service provider.
“Particularly in our industry, it’s essential to always use the latest technologies,” adds Anton Kreuzer. “That’s the only way to ensure we’re always a step ahead of the criminals.” The company constantly works with universities and other research institutions and is an active member of technical and professional associations. This ensures that fresh ideas are always flowing into the company and that its 50 staff can convert them into innovative solutions. In this way, DriveLock SE has recently made more than half its profits from new products and innovative new enhancements. Against this backdrop, it is no surprise that it has been awarded the TOP 100 label for the second time in a row. On the previous occasion, the company’s name was CenterTools SE.
Top 100: The competition
Back in 1993 compamedia began awarding the “Top 100” seal to SMEs which demonstrate particular innovation strength and out-standing innovative success. Since 2002, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration has been this project’s scientific head. Prof. Dr. Franke is one of the leading experts for user innovation in the world. The science journalist and TV presenter, Ranga Yogeshwar, is the “Top 100” project mentor. The Fraunhofer Society for the advancement of applied research acts as a partner to this project and the German business magazine “manager magazin” is the media partner.
